Monitor YouTube

A YouTube review reaches more buyers than most of your marketing, and the comments underneath it are where the objections you have never answered live.

[01] WHAT FISHOUT COLLECTS/ YOUTUBE

What gets collected

Videos, by title and description, newest first, with the channel attached. Comments are not searched.

And the conversation around it

None needed: a video arrives with its channel, so you know whether it is a review of your product or an unrelated tutorial.

Who is on YouTube

Reviewers, tutorial makers and the buyers in their comments. This is where a long-form comparison of you and a competitor gets made, and it stays discoverable for years rather than hours.

Worth knowing

FishOut matches a keyword in the video’s title and description, not in its comments or what is said in the video. KWatch documents the same limit: a keyword mentioned in the video but absent from the title or description will not trigger an alert. Open the video from the mention to read the objections underneath it.
[02] WHAT YOU FIND THERE/ TRIAGED

Real YouTube mentions, as FishOut reads them

Every post is read against your project's Brief: a relevance from 0 to 100 with Why chips saying what drove it, and labels such as Asking for recommendations or Complaint. Posts below the threshold go to Filtered with a reason and never count toward your plan. The examples here are illustrative.

I replaced my entire email setup for 30 days. The triage is the real feature and everything else is table stakes. The onboarding is rough.

[03] WHAT TO TRACK/ KEYWORDS

Keyword shapes that work on YouTube

The same three keywords do not work everywhere. What finds buyers on YouTube is different from what finds them on Reddit or in the trade press, and getting this wrong is the most common reason a listening tool goes unread.

Your product name

A review or comparison names the product in its title or description. Finding it the day it goes up means you can answer in the comments while the creator is still reading them.

“review” and “vs” plus your category

Comparison videos rank for years and reach buyers who will never read a blog post. Finding one on the day it goes up is worth more than finding it in a quarterly report.

Competitor names

A competitor's review video gathers people saying what they dislike about it, in the comments underneath. FishOut finds the video; that audience is the most qualified you will find anywhere.

What to watch YouTube for

The keyword shapes, relevance floors and routing differ by what you are looking for, so each of these is its own setup rather than a filter on this page.
