Alternatives
Leaving one of these?
One page per tool, listing five real alternatives ranked by who they suit — including the cases where the answer is a free tool, a more expensive one, or staying where you are. Nobody pays to be on these lists, which is why some of them recommend against us.
Reddit tools
GummySearch alternatives
Closed to new signupsGummySearch stopped taking signups on 30 November 2025 and shuts down completely on 1 December 2026, when every account and its data is deleted. Its maker could not get a commercial licence for Reddit’s Data API. If you still rely on it, export first, then pick a tool that does not stand on Reddit alone.
Redship alternatives
$29/moFor most people leaving Redship because their market is bigger than Reddit, FishOut; for people who want to stay Reddit-only with more reply guard-rails, HotMention. Redship itself is a good, cheap Reddit tool — the reasons to leave are reach, seats and where alerts can go.
Redreach alternatives
Not publishedFor a team that likes Redreach’s MCP-and-API approach but wants it across more than Reddit, at a price it can read first: FishOut. For a Reddit-only tool with a published price, Redship. Redreach does one thing well — finding Reddit threads that matter, including ones ranking on Google.
Subreddit Signals alternatives
$29/mo, $24 annuallyFor someone who wanted to try before handing over a card, or who needs Slack without paying for Pro: FishOut. For someone who wants to stay Reddit-only with SEO extras: Redship. Subreddit Signals is strongest at what happens after the reply — attribution — and nobody here replaces that.
HotMention alternatives
$99/moFor most people leaving HotMention over price, FishOut: the same shape — intent, a reply verdict, drafts and MCP — from free, and 50 keywords for $19. If Threads or Quora is the reason you chose HotMention, nothing cheaper covers them, and staying is the honest answer.
Indie listening tools
Mentionkit alternatives
$49/moMentionkit is a good tool and the closest thing to us in the category — AI scoring, an API, an MCP server, priced for small teams. People leave it for two reasons, and which one applies decides where you should go next.
Octolens alternatives
$199/mo, $159 annuallyOctolens is the established option for B2B developer tools, with wider source coverage and customers like Vercel and PostHog. Almost everyone who looks for an alternative is looking for the same thing they get for less.
Syften alternatives
$29.95/moSyften reaches sources almost nobody else does — podcasts, public Slack communities, about twenty in total — from $29.95 a month, though X (+$40/mo) and YouTube (+$20/mo) are add-ons on Standard and PRO and LinkedIn is not covered at all. It is also explicit that it does not score and does not do sentiment — its AI filter keeps or drops, and does not rank — and that is the line people eventually run into.
Awario alternatives
$49/mo, $29 annuallyAwario is the value option among the established suites — $49 a month, or $29 billed annually, for 30,000 mentions with unlimited keywords inside each of its three topics, and its own crawler. The problem people arrive with is rarely that it finds too little.
KWatch.io alternatives
Free, then $19/moKWatch.io is close to us in shape and price — a free tier, a $19 plan, an MCP server, and the fastest alerting in this list on Reddit and Hacker News. The thing to check before you compare anything else is how it counts keywords.
Enterprise suites
Brand24 alternatives
$249/moBrand24 is a mature PR and reputation platform with measurement a small tool cannot fake — share of voice, reach, demographics, anomaly detection. It is also $249 a month for three keywords, and that arithmetic is why most people end up on this page.
Mention alternatives
Contact salesMention withdrew its self-serve tiers in July 2025 and now publishes no price at all: one Company plan, a Get a demo button, and a trial that is really an Agorapulse trial. Most people on this page are not shopping — they are being repriced, and the question is what the money was actually buying.
Sprout Social alternatives
$99 per seat/mo, listening from $249Sprout Social is a whole social operation — publishing, scheduling, replying, review moderation, reporting — with listening as one module. Half the people looking for an alternative want the listening for less; the other half will be disappointed by everything on this page.
Mentionlytics alternatives
$59/mo, $49 annuallyFor a brand on Basic or Essential that keeps hitting the keyword-rule cap and mostly wants conversations to join: FishOut. For an agency that needs owned-profile analytics and white-label reports at a lower step: BrandMentions or Brand24. Mentionlytics is a capable suite; the reason to leave is usually the maths.
BrandMentions alternatives
$99/mo billed quarterlyFor a small team that hit the five-keyword Starter cap, or needs an API without Enterprise: FishOut. For a reporting suite with MCP: Brand24. BrandMentions’ strengths — the open web, reviews and white-label reports — are real, and two picks here keep them.
Talkwalker alternatives
Quote onlyFor a startup or SMB marketer who was sent to “request a demo”: FishOut, with published prices, AI triage and MCP from Free. For a mid-market suite with reporting and published tiers: Brand24 or Mentionlytics. For a like-for-like enterprise suite: Brandwatch. Talkwalker’s reach is genuinely hard to match, and none of the cheaper picks tries.
Brandwatch alternatives
Quote onlyFor a team that only needed the “who is talking about us” slice of Brandwatch: FishOut. For an enterprise suite with unlimited users: Talkwalker. For published-price suites with reporting: Brand24 or Mentionlytics. Brandwatch’s archive back to 2008 has no cheap substitute, and we say so below.
Free
F5Bot alternatives
Free, then $9.99/moF5Bot is free, it has run since 2017, and it emails you the moment your word appears on Reddit, Hacker News or Lobsters. Nobody leaves it because it is bad. They leave because a mailbox is not a workflow.
Google Alerts alternatives
FreeGoogle Alerts is free, covers Google’s whole index in 240 regions and 47 languages, and is genuinely good at what it does. What it cannot do is see Reddit, X, LinkedIn or any other social platform — which is where most conversations about a product actually happen.
Pricing, explained
One page per tool: every tier, what each actually meters, and which features are gated. Written because the published figures in this category are widely misreported — several vendors show an annual rate as the headline price, and one has stopped publishing a price at all.
Every price and platform count here comes from the vendor's own pricing page and carries the date it was read on the matching comparison page. This category reprices often — Mention withdrew its self-serve plans in July 2025 — so treat anything more than a quarter old as needing a second look before you sign for it.
