Introducing FishOut
Today we're launching FishOut, an AI-native social listening platform. It watches ten platforms for the conversations that matter to your business, scores every mention by relevance and buyer intent, and puts the useful ones at the top.
The problem with keyword alerts
Most people start with a keyword alerter. It's free, it's simple, and it works exactly as advertised: every time someone writes your product name anywhere, you get an email.
Then you discover the problem. Most of those people aren't buyers. They're arguing about something unrelated and happened to use your word in passing. So you skim, you archive, and within a fortnight you stop opening the digest at all.
The useful mentions were in there — the person asking which tool to pick, the thread comparing you against a competitor, the bug report nobody turned into a ticket. You just couldn't afford the time to find them.
Volume was never the hard part. Judgement was.
What FishOut does differently
FishOut scores every mention before you see it. Someone asking "what should I use for this?" ranks above someone name-dropping you in an unrelated thread. Sort by score and the top of your feed is the part worth your attention.
Alongside the score, each mention arrives with:
- Intent — separating the person comparing tools from the person reporting a bug from the person who simply likes you. Different conversations, different urgency, different replies.
- Tags — theme, product area, and sentiment, applied automatically. You can find everyone who talked about pricing last month without having built a taxonomy first.
- Context — the surrounding thread, so you can judge whether to reply without opening five tabs.
Add a keyword and the history is already there. FishOut backfills immediately, so you start with the last stretch of conversation rather than an empty screen that fills up over the following week.
Ten platforms, one search
FishOut monitors Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Hacker News, YouTube, TikTok, Medium, GitHub, and Google News.
That range matters because buying conversations don't respect platform boundaries. Someone asks for recommendations on Reddit, a competitor's launch gets picked apart on Hacker News, a customer vents on X, and a journalist writes it up a week later. Watching one platform well means missing most of the story.
Built to be programmable
A mention is the start of a workflow, not the end of one. So everything in the FishOut dashboard is available programmatically:
- A REST API for querying mentions, scores, tags, and keywords, filtered by platform, date, sentiment, or score.
- Webhooks that fire on new mentions above a score threshold, so you can route them into your CRM, your queue, or your on-call channel.
- An MCP server, so AI agents can query your mentions directly. Point Claude or Cursor at your workspace and ask what people said about your pricing this week — no exports, no copy-paste.
That last one matters more than it might sound. Social listening data is exactly the kind of context an agent needs and almost never has.
White label, for agencies
If you monitor on behalf of clients, FishOut runs as your product. Your domain, your logo, your colours — across the dashboard, the reports, and the notification emails. Each client gets their own workspace with separate keywords, sources, and history, and their own read-only access to it.
Agency workflows are usually an afterthought in this category, or gated behind enterprise pricing. They shouldn't be.
One thing FishOut won't do
FishOut drafts replies. It does not post them.
You get a draft in your own voice with the thread context already loaded. You edit it, and you post it yourself from your own account. Automated posting and vote manipulation are against the rules on most of these platforms, they're bad for the communities involved, and they're a fast route to a ban. We're not building that.
