Playbook · Weekly, Monday morning

What people complained about your competitors this week

The complaints about a competitor are your roadmap and your sales script. This playbook pulls the week’s Complaint and Has a problem mentions on your competitor keywords, groups them by theme, and puts the people who say they are leaving at the top.

[01] THE PROMPT/ COPY IT

Paste this

Fill in the {{braces}}. Run below: Claude Code.

prompt

Using FishOut, list mentions from the last 7 days on our competitor keywords labelled complaint or has-a-problem. Group them into themes ({{pricing, reliability, support, missing features}} or whatever fits), count each theme, and quote one short paraphrase per theme. Put anyone who says they are switching at the top. Then compare the volume with the previous week using insights.

Alerts arrive a day late, which defeats the point

WatchHas a problem

Pricing (11): renewal increases, mostly r/marketing and r/agency. Latency (6): alerts arriving late. Support (4): slow replies. Three people say they are switching — all over pricing. Complaint volume is up 40% on the previous week.

[04] GUARDRAILS/ LIMITS

No pile-ons

A complaint about a competitor is not an invitation to pitch. Most of these are Watch or Reply carefully for a reason.

Paraphrase, do not quote at length

The summary is for your team. Short paraphrases keep it about the theme rather than the person.

Read-only

Nothing here writes. A read-only grant is enough.
[05] SCHEDULE IT/ CRON

A prompt runs once

Weekly, Monday morning: Codex, OpenClaw or Hermes Agent.

Hermes Agent · cron expression

hermes cron create "0 9 * * 1" \
"Using FishOut, list mentions from the last 7 days on our competitor keywords labelled complaint or has-a-problem"

Or let FishOut do the scheduled part

FishOut labels every mention, separates competitors from your brand and keeps the Switchers view. The prompt does the grouping and the week-on-week comparison.
[06] NO ASSISTANT/ RULES

“Switchers to #competitors” as a rule

No prompt at all: a FishOut agent rule (from Plus) does the routine half.
Switchers to #competitors4 runs / 24h

When

Every triaged mention

Subject is A competitor

Label is one of Complaint, Has a problem

Then

Post to Slack #competitors

Add the label Switching signal
