FishOut vs Common Room

Common Room is a sales-intelligence platform: it unifies community, social, website, CRM and product signals into people and companies, enriches them, and routes them to reps. Zoom completed its acquisition in July 2026. FishOut is a listening inbox — the posts themselves, labelled and drafted. They overlap on one thing, social conversations, and many teams will eventually want both. Most early teams want the second first.

Common Room facts checked on 20 October 2026, from their own published material. Sources are listed at the foot of this page.

[03] WHERE COMMON ROOM IS STRONGER/ HONESTLY
Common Room is buyer signals and enrichment for sales teams, now part of Zoom, and there are things it does that we do not.

People and companies, not posts

Common Room resolves activity to a person and an account, enriches it, de-anonymises website visitors and adds Bombora intent topics. FishOut shows you the post and the author’s handle; it does not enrich anyone.

It lives in your sales stack

CRM sync, workflows, segments, a Chrome extension and, now, Zoom Revenue Accelerator. FishOut sends alerts and has an API; it does not write to your CRM.

An MCP server with write tools

Common Room includes its MCP server on all plans, with OAuth and create and update tools. This row is parity, and theirs is well built.
[04] WHERE FISHOUT WINS/ WITH PROOF

$19 against $2,500

Common Room Essential is $2,500 a month billed annually, through a demo. FishOut Plus is $19/mo, self-serve. If what you need is the social-conversation part of “signals”, that is the price of it.

The content, not just the contact

FishOut gives you the post, why it is relevant, what the author wants, whether to answer, and a draft. That is the part a rep needs to say something useful.

What you get instead of Common Room

What a team gets on the first evening, without a demo: switchers, complaints and press in one inbox, each with its reason. Common Room measures the conversation; this tells you which part to answer.

Per-client views are the thing to test. AcmeMail does one workspace with a view per client address — I work there — and most MSPs we see start with the free plan.
