[01] HOW ALERTS BEHAVE/ DELIVERY

The relevance floor

Every channel has its own floor. A mention under it stays in the inbox and the channel stays quiet, which is how a team channel at 70 and an on-call inbox at 90 can watch the same keywords.

Instant, then a digest

Chat, push and email channels send the first mention right away and roll the rest of a five-minute burst into one digest message. Webhooks and Zapier get every event instantly, because code would rather batch for itself.

What a message carries

The platform and where the post was, the headline, the relevance that cleared the floor and the labels. In the product each message also links back to the post in your inbox.

What a webhook carries

A version 2 JSON envelope signed with HMAC-SHA256: relevance, labels, Reply call, sentiment and links — and deliberately not the post body, which you fetch with your own API key.
[02] THE SAME CHECK, EVERY HOUR/ IN THE PRODUCT

The same settings in the product

In FishOut each notification channel has a floor, the events it receives, and its delivery history with a health state, so a broken webhook never silently stops your Slack alerts. All thirteen providers are on every plan, including Free.

Answer the actual problem: noise

Draft reply

The fix for us was a threshold per channel. I work on Acme, which does that, but the idea works anywhere.
